MLB Draft 2013: The Baltimore Orioles select local catcher Alex Murphy in 6th round With their 6th round pick, the Baltimore Orioles decided to go local and selected a catcher named Alex Murphy from Calvert Hall. Murphy is listed as 6' and 205 pounds Ramon Urias Jersey. Murphy has signed a letter of intent to attend Wake Forest University and he was recently named the Gatorade Maryland Baseball Player of the Year. There isn't much info out there on Murphy, but Google tells me that when he was a freshman he won $1000 for sinking a basketball from half court.
